I haven't had wine for almost a week.

I've been down with pneumonia (a little more serous than man flu it turns out) and have been on a strict regimen of antibiotics.

Feeling just a tad better today, though.

On a positive note, I've lost half a stone in only 5 days just from lack of appetite. Well, I think that's a positive, though I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

I was out tonight.... and started off with a bottle of Corona.
Then a bottle of house red... which was a nice Cab Sav

I will start with a bottle of H/M pearl barley wine
and finish off with a of EDME Lager

Out again tonight for me
No wine... whilst out....just some cider and "Gordon"
But it was a cracking day oot

I have just cracked open a bottle of Rich's Bramling Oat Stout. I have NEVER in my life seen a head on a pint as dark as this beer. I am afraid.
There is very little in the way of nose. This isn't a bad thing though. If this beer was any darker it would absorb light so I'm not surprised that the smell is subdued re: hops.

To taste it is smooth with a bitter I'd associate with dark (like 70% + cocoa solids) chocolate. There is a very pleasing warmth of alcohol from this beer, but nothing to suggest that it is 9%.

It is, given it's young age (bottled at the end of january), high alcohol and oh so darkly darkness, a very nice beer. I look forward to my next bottle around my birthday.

Oooh. Just burped. tasted exatly like the smell of the air in Ahwaz in Iran an odd combination of petrol and natural gas. How Bizzare!

last night I had an extremely over-oaked commercial Merlot. It literally smelled like a sheet of plywood.
